Our new website (almost) goes live

Two steps closer to making this the official ASU website:

• No more adverts on the site.  We are now paying our web hosting provider a small amount each month, and in return they have removed the adverts.
• Greg our webmaster has made the url http://www.asu-columbus.org point to our new website at asu.terapad.com.  The url http://asu-columbus.org still points to the old web site for the time being.
  

We are going to be moving forward this week with our new email provider, and I hope that our migration to the new www.asu-columbus.org will be complete by this time next week.

Favicons and other changes

If you look carefully at the URL displayed at the top of your browser, you'll see a little icon before the URL itself. This is a 'favicon' - a tiny version of our new ASU logo, and just one of the changes that our friend Matt Kranstuber is doing to tune up our new web site.  Expect more changes over the coming days!

Just added a little tool called spapshots from http://www.snap.com that provides previews of sites we link to - hover your mouse over the links in our blogroll and take a look!

Pictures transferred from old site

Greg gave me the FTP details of the old website, and I have found two groups of photos from parties in 2003 and 2004 that I have added as image galleries on the new website.  The thumbnails of each photo are generated automatically - would anyone like to add captions?
